My name is Isaac Gadson. I am a special Education k-5 stem teacher in Dayton Ohio. I teach STEM (focusing on science and technology). This is my nineteenth year of teaching. My participation in the STEM Fellowship program has broadened my professional development as a science teacher. With this opportunity, I was able to find creative ways to demonstrate STEM concepts with our students grades k-6 improving students skills and knowledge in science, technology, engineering, and math. This experience has had a direct impact on my classroom environment designed to help support student learning. Prior to this fellowship program, my students were often dis-engaged with lessons. After working with STEM fellowships in the program I was able to gain additional insight of how to work on an appropriate curriculum that would engage students in all areas of development that was age appropriate as well as supporting the Ohio Content Standards area.
