What are some good activities to start introducing and teaching science to children that have yet to enter school? Things that can be done at home, in a place or with materials that are accessible. If they are things that can keep an active toddler intrigued all the better.
Are there any recommendations, whether they are from experience or in theory, anyone has?

There are so many nice additions to this post, ranging from helping the students learn about plans, their different parts, food, health, birds and other creatures while working hands on in a garden and connecting it to life science for them to experience it beforehand. As Lindsey mentioned it would be great if all children were able to have that opportunity. I wonder if a small indoor garden would...
