I notice the more visual lessons are and the more oppurtunities to speak to their peers and to participate in class. The more oppurtunties they have to get up and move around also helps them focus.

I will be teaching next year as a first year teacher. How do you suggest bringin outside inside to create an authentic and engaging science lerning experinece. I want to find ways to give my students hands on oppurtunities.

In my placement, we do a Bat Day around Halloween. The first grade classrooms are completely dark and spend the entire day learning about bats and what they eat, drink and about all the species. Does anyone else do anything similar?
