Wed, Nov 05, 2014 1:23 PM in Integrating Fairy Tales and Engineering
I think this is an amazing idea. I can see students at first thinking how could fairytales connect with engineering and then be surprised when they see how it can be connected. I found a link that connects fairytales with other subjects as well. I can see myself using this as a unit.

Hello, I came across the NASA website and it has modules on how to train like an astronaut. This will show students real life application of nutrition. After all you can't be an astronaut without a good fitness and nutition plan. This will also show students how physical activity and nutrition affects the body.

I think taking students to the amusement parks is a great idea. You can incorporate engineering and physics while your visit. If an amusement park is not at your reach then you can totally use the schools playground. Any science lesson can be incorporated. These ideas will take the students out of the class room and try real world application.

Heredity and Variation: Genes in Action
Wed, Oct 29, 2014 6:48 PM Review on Heredity and Variation: Genes in Action
I like that this resource gives you activites about genes. I find genes to be a somewhat difficult topic that having activites you can do with students can help making it less complex. The resource went into detail about reproduction and its connection with genes and heredity. I find this resource helpful for teachers because it provides ample of examples in this topic and how to apply it in class.
Nutrition: What is Food?
Wed, Oct 29, 2014 6:31 PM Review for Nutrition
I find this resource beneficial for teachers who want to teach a nutrition unit. What I learned from this resource is that there are multiple science subjects you can incorporate with nutition. I also like that it answers questions one would not really think about such as "is it possible to live on air?". Overall I give this five stars because of the helpfulness and details.
