Daphne Pierre-Louis

My name is Daphne Pierre-Louis, I am currently a FIU student trying to work on my bachelor’s degree. I’m majoring on early childhood education, I chose that major because when I tried to go for nursing it was to competitive and one of my advisors told me just because I have all the requirement doesn’t really mean I’m going to get accepted into the program. I decided what she said was true because everybody is going after that one major. I also love working with kids that why I chose early childhood, trying to make a difference in this world with the children and trying something new. I was born in Haiti and I came down to Miami when I was like 5 years of age, I was raised by my father and my sisters my mother is still in Haiti. Growing up it was hard for me because I didn’t really have a mom to depend on so everything that I’m really trying to accomplish is for her and for her to come to Miami and not depend on nobody.
