Tue, Dec 07, 2021 1:40 AM in Activities that students can do with their families?
Hello! Family involvment is very important and can play a role in students education. I think it means more to students when their families participate in activities that they bring home from school. Creating games and activities that are educational and involve multiple people to partake in would be a good tool that teachers can use to involve the families of the students while teaching them at ...

Hello! I feel this is often a struggle alot of teachers deal with in a sense that they feel the parents are not as involved with what their child is learning at school. My CT sends out weekly news letters to inform the families of the students what we are learning about during that particular week. This allows the parents to know if their child is struggling with homework, the parents are able to...

Keeping students engaged is one of the hardest parts of any teachers day when they are constantly trying to bring students back together or asking students to stay on task when they might be working on something else. I am placed in a third grade classroom and we use the PBIS behavioral system. The students work hard to earn points each day and are able to use their points to purchase items and p...

Discover the NGSS
I have learned so much from this interactive e-book. It gives a clear understanding of Science Methods and includes materials that will help me be a better teacher. I have learned from the book and this course about different techniques and resources to use when creating lessons for Science standards. I feel that because of this book I have a much better understanding of Science concepts, along with the Science standards for Elementary level students, along with techniques to ensure the students are understanding what is being taught to them.

Seasons Changing
This article has to do with the seasons changing and the important reasons why we experience the different seasons. I think it is important for students to understand why the seasons change and determine the difference between seasons, as well as being able to identify the current season we are in. This is a great resource to have as teachers.

Claim, Evidence, Reasoning Challenges Young Minds
I agree with the other responses to this article. In the classroom there is a huge desired need to help students to independently think and create their own ideas and thinkings about the material being taught to them. As teachers it is our job to ensure that students are able to support claims, find evidence and challenge their own thinking. Students need to be familiar with these skills to help them function in the outside world as they will continue to come into contact with these skills in their adult lives and will be a determining factor in their success. Ways I feel will help student practice these skills in the classroom is by implementing them and making them apart of the lesson to familiarize the students and get them in the habit of thinking about these skills.
