I am an Assistant Professor in Science Education in the Department of Teaching and Learning at The Ohio State University. I currently teach Elementary Science Methods as well as STEM assessment courses. My research interests include the use of modeling and models in science education K12, especially focused on biology and physics. In addition, I am interested in researching how to incorporate engineering education into K12 classrooms. I taught physics, biology and chemistry to high school students in Ohio, Louisiana and Pennsylvania and served as a K12 science department head. I am currently serving as the Past President of the American Modeling Teacher Association and a member of the NSTA's Research in Science Education committee.
