My favorite way to assess students in a science classroom is by using Kahoot.it or other games. Children don't really like the old fashion formal assessment with pencil and paper. If it is done in a fun way, children won't find it tedious. In addition, teacher can assess students just by asking verbal questions and teacher can tell if a student understood the lesson or not.

Hi Olivia, I am not a teachet yet but based on my after care experience, I feel like organization, communication and rules are very important in a classroom. You need to create great habits starting when you first meet them. Also repetition is very important, Take 1-3 mins out of your class time to go over the classroom rules.

One of may favorite hands-on activity to do with students is Oobleck. The could get the chance to make the experiment and it deals with liquid, solid and viscosity. It is a great way for the students to learn because they get to feel the substance and the kids really enjoy it.
