Excellent Introduction

This resource is an excellent introduction to the movement of planetary bodies with a focus on the sun. It includes two lessons each relating to the movement of the sun and how it relates to us on earth. Each lesson is well explained and is open to adjustment by the teacher. These can be combined with other lessons for max efficiency in understanding planetary movement.

Excellent Concepts!

I was very pleased with the quality of this resource. It includes an almost step by step walkthrough of the writers unit and review of actions that the writer took. This lesson can be tailored to fit most grade levels and can prove to be a useful source for starting any unit on the movement of planetary bodies. The writer also takes the time to point out the assessment and content standards relating to this topic so others may properly use it in their units.

This resource is a excellent starting location for a new teacher when preparing to teach about planetary motion. It begins by explaining how to find useful resources and pointing out the importance of identifying and drawing attention to misconceptions. The article follows through a progression of lessons that can be changed and adapted for most primary grade levels, but focus on Preschool and Kindergarten.
