Engaging and Useful Resource for Middle Schoolers

This e-book is an outstanding resource for middle school educators. As a college student preparing to possibly teach science someday, I found the visuals and hands-on activities extremely helpful for demonstrating complex ideas. The visuals and hands-on activities help more complex processes like cellular respiration and chemical reactions seem more feasible. The activities are also NGSS-aligned which make this resource practical for teachers aiming to meet standards while also increasing students’ understanding. Something that really stood out to me was the use of real-life scenarios and inquiry-based approaches. Overall, this e-book is a great tool for pre service and in-service teachers.

Outstanding resource for middle school educators!

This e-book is a very useful for resource for middle school educators and teacher candidates, like myself. It successfully breaks down concept scienc topics into digestible modules while aligning with NGSS standards, such as MS-LS1-6 and MS-LS2-3. Something I found very useful is when the ebook focuses on misconceptions. Personally, there are misconceptions that I have made regarding science topics that are still unclear to me to this day. I also really appreciate the engaging classroom activities that the e-book provides. The “Energy Pyramid Challenge” is a hands-on activity that allows students to demonstrate energy loss at each tropic level. I highly recommend this resource to educators looking for a comprehensive, classroom-ready guide to teaching foundational life science concepts, like the one in this e-book.
