I fall short in the area of digging deeper with science journals. I know we all fight the clock to get those precious minutes in for science but we have to do more when it comes to journaling and teaching students how to write detailed descriptions and record evidence. If we go back and look at some early entries we can see that there are missing details. The rubric in this article shows the varying levels of quality observations. If I do a better job of teaching students to be more accurate, and concise, they will reap the benefits as they progress through their school careers.
