This E-book is incredibly well put together. It provides a large amount of information about rocks in a concise and engaging way. I loved that it included quizzes, picture slideshows, and recommended activities in the classroom. The interactive elements were easy to work and intriguing. I especially liked the "igneous soup" interactive. The common student misconceptions included in each section are a great touch. Overall, This e-book is a great teaching resource!

I found the interactive E-book on Rocks to be a very useful tool to be utilized in the classroom and to refresh my knowledge on the topic. The interactive links were fun and would be a great resource to use in the classroom as well, example: matching rock types to a location. All of the interactive links worked fine for me. I loved all of the images provided to create a visual of the different rock types and what the location of the rocks are as well. I will defiantly be using NSTA to assist my instruction in the classroom in the future!

The eBook had many great visuals and interactive slides that allowed the reader to learn in different ways. The quizzes after each section really helped me determine my understanding. By the end of the ebook I felt like I had much greater knowledge than when I started. However, I wish the final exam at the end had clearer answers. The questions had several answers that were true statements, but only one that fit the description, so it ended up being confusing.

This book is a great resource for someone preparing to take the Elementary and/or Middle School Science praxis exams. It describes and defines rocks, rock types, formation of rock, rock history, and the rock cycle. I particularly found the information and diagrams in the Ebook Cycling section extremely helpful in connecting all components of the rock cycle. The inclusion of student preconceptions and misconceptions in the subject areas are my favorite part of these NSTA Ebook resources. Overall, a great resource for future teachers understanding rock content and teaching.

I am very happy with my experience with this book. The way it is broken into sections of igneous rocks, metamorphic rocks, sedimentary rocks, cycling, history, earth cycles, etc. really helped to break such a broad topic into manageable chunks of information easy to retain. This book holds a lot of information, with many interactive elements and areas for “Review what you learned” where you can recap and refresh your memory on key elements that are important to remember from the section you are reading. I really liked the interactive elements where you could play a game that gave you an opportunity to interact with science experiments digitally and see how the different elements such as magma, basalt, or graphite reacted with different variables like pressure, heat, or cooling. It was also helpful that a “Review what you learned” was usually strategically placed following one of these interactive elements so not only were you reviewing the content from the unit but also what you observed in the digital experiments. This made the content more memorable and engaging, therefore, allowing it to be more easily retained when it came time to take the final assessment. I also really liked that there was a reader notes section beneath each page, I used this feature for the pages with a lot of information that I wanted to highlight the key points of. A suggestion I have is when reviewing the content under the review page following the final assessment some of the practice questions that reappeared from the book pages had pictures that did not load. That was the only issue that I encountered with working on this book. Overall, I recommend this book to anyone looking to learn more about rocks, the rock cycle, and how the earth is affected by rocks!

In all seriousness though, this is a well laid out book. It does a great job of giving detailed information without overwhelming. I like the "Take Notice!" section that highlights specific items. There are nice vivid photographs to enhance and visualize the information. They relate back to everyday objects that we are familiar with to get a better idea of the contents of different types of rocks. There are nice questions related to the material to help guide your learning and help self assess your retention. They hit many aspects of rocks that I would not have thought of being a way to classify or organize rocks. The reading is involved so I would suggest this for a little older students or possibly a read aloud for younger students (not the entire book but the area of which is being studied).

I enjoyed this interactive e-book a lot. It was very informative without being too confusing. It was also engaging and tested my knowledge with a quiz after each section. I thought it was helpful being tested on everything I just learned about. It allowed me to retain the information a lot better. I learned a lot about the three different kinds of rocks and I would have not been able to implement our lesson plan without this interactive e book. It was very helpful with the different categories of rocks as well as the different transformations rocks go through.

I really enjoyed this interactive E-Book! I believe that it has helpful information for students of all ages, and it provides real life examples that are relevant to students lives! The activities and quizzes were very helpful and allowed me to stay on track with all the information that was in the book. I used this E-Book to create a lesson based on the three different types of rocks, and we used this E-Book to guide us through how to teach these three types of rocks. Overall, I found this E-Book to be really helpful while creating a lesson, the activities and quizzes were fun and helped to keep me on track, and I believe that this E-Book would be helpful for students of any age!

I really enjoyed this E-book. I believe elementary age students would have found the activities and images provided to be very intriguing! I felt the language was appropriate for younger students and conveyed each idea efficiently. The quizzes helped establish and check my understanding. From a teachers perspective it was very easy to write a lesson based on this E-book since its fun and entertaining. As a whole I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it.

This interactive E-Book I found to be very engaging and interactive. Between the quizzes in between each chapter and the final assessment at the end, I felt that my knowledge was being assessed properly as the E-Book progressed! This E-Book helped me in writing a lesson about rocks for second graders since I learned more about rocks as I completed reading it. Overall, I enjoyed reading this and feel that it helped me learn about rocks to better my lesson for my students.

I found this book to be very informative over rocks and even delved into other aspects such as Earth history and Earth cycles. There was a lot of content covered in this ebook and I loved the interactive activities that coincide with the lessons. The only think I wish would be listed was the sub categories of each lesson for each chapter so I could better track my progress (maybe a progress completion bar).

Where do I start? I loved this interactive E-Book! I found it very informative and easy to read! A few features I loved about this E-book were that it was not overwhelming with information and I loved the audio text option! I found it extremely helpful to have comprehension checks through the textbook via short quizzes. The activities and pictures definitely helped me stay engaged. I learned a lot! I think this is a great textbook for students! The only reason why I would give it a four-star rating instead of a 5 is some of the tablet activities were challenging to work and I feel like the final exam was a lot harder than the quizzes. This was something I just did not expect. Overall, loved it!

This Interactive E-book was full of great information and photographs. Each page offered both us pre-service teachers and students great topics and facts, with questions that allowed you to think deeply about the content in the textbook. The quizzes the E-Book offered allowed the reader to test their knowledge about the content and ensure they are really absorbing the information throughout the E-Book.
