Today I read an article named “Integrating Digital Tools”. The author, Peggy Ashbrook (2007) states that more and more elementary schools are beginning to introduce digital tools into the curriculum. (p.20) At the end of his article, the author gives an activity about how to use the digital tools in the class. Students should create a message to send or take home by using technology. I think integrating digital tools with science class can help students understand new concepts better and practice science theory. When students learn how to use digital tools, they will practice their necessary skills and develop their cognitive ability. In addition, digital tools can be used in group and individual activity to help students achieve their learning goals. In my opinion, digital tools can not only be used in science class, it is also a good way to teach other subjects. In my future class, I will use digital tools to teach my students. For example, I will use computers to show an interesting video as a hook to help students concentrate on my class. I will use 3D printer to help students understand the structure of the earth. I prefer my students to do experiments to explore new things.
