In the program, Dr. Robertson talked about simple machines by highlighting the lever and pulley. A prime focus of the presentation was the relationship between force and distance when a simple machine is applied. He used illustration examples from his book, NSTA Science Object simulations, and a variety of questions to help participants gain an appreciation for the concept of simple machines.
