Having a background and minor in Educational Technology already had me hooked on this article because I want to incorporate technology into the classroom as much as I need because students are so interested in technology. I thought this article has amazing ideas on how to incorporate technology in science lessons, especially when talking about Motion and Stability. The article discussed the app Coconut Star, which I am going to explore for my classroom and ways to incorporate it. magnet Hunt is also another app I want to try and incorporate in my science lessons. Both apps are great ways for students to analyze and interpret data. These apps incorporate standards that are used within it which a great thing to look at as a teacher. Both apps are completely free which is great as a teacher because you do not have a huge budget within the classroom.

I really like this article and review of some possible motion and stability apps for use in the classroom! I am especially impressed with the idea that the use of an app for virtual experiment or simulation is not a replacement for hands on experimentation. I agree that virtual experiments support hands on and can increase time on learning because they are often more time efficient. I was very interested in learning about Coconut Star as I teach kindergarten and it sounds like a great resource to complement science instruction in my classroom. The advice of having students explore the app for 3-5 minutes before actually assigning an experiment or simulation is a fantastic idea. I am also quite impressed that both apps reviewed in the article are available for free, this is important for school usage.
