Chemistry, Toys, and Accidental Inventions

by: Terry Shiverdecker and Jessica Fries-Gaither

This lesson helps students distinguish between reactants and products, explain the law of conservation of matter, measure properties or reactants and products, recognize that a change in the reactants results in a difference in the products, observe that a chemical reaction results in a new substance with different properties than the original substance, and synthesize information from text and lab activities to define vocabulary. The investigations support the Next Generation Science Standards and the Common Core State Standards. This book selection includes the Table of Contents, About the Authors, Introduction, and Index.
