This chapter shares the seven overlapping and mutually reinforcing strategies teachers used that effectively supported children’s learning in physical science and engineering. Consistent implementation of these teaching strategies requires that preschool teachers have time, training, administrative support, and a commitment to science and engineering education for young children. But the potential payoff is tremendous—an opportunity for preschoolers and their teachers to jump into the world of 21st-century STEM! A materials list, teacher background information, and outcomes are provided. This book selection includes the Table of Contents, Introduction, References, and Index.
