This problem addresses direction, distance, speed, and acceleration by having students develop ways to use speed, time, direction, and acceleration to describe a motion. Students use acceleration data from an insurance car monitoring system to reconstruct the motion of a car. This problem focuses on using acceleration to describe motion in the context of a potential getaway car. It can be adapted to have students use acceleration information to reconstruct any motion with starts, stops, and turns. A materials list, teacher background information, safety practices, assessment, and outcomes are provided. This book selection includes the Table of Contents, Preface, Catalog of Problems, Acknowledgments, About the Authors, Image Credits, and Index.
