In this chapter, the objective of the activity “Materials Museum” is to experience and describe a wide range of materials and discuss their attributes and uses. Chapters 1 and 2 are also included in this book selection. Chapter 1 focuses on science inquiry and the use of “The Early Years” column to support science and engineering learning. Chapter 2 focuses on assessment and the value of assessing children’s learning to understand how to make teaching more effective. It has an example of an assessment tool showing sequences of children’s science behavior in early childhood, with related scientific and engineering practices.
