This session leverages the power of student discovery, viewed through the lens of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), to support students’ awareness of the complex nature of a warming planet. Students begin the session by forming research groups and selecting climate change–related topics. Each group investigates their chosen topic in order to develop a deep understanding of it. Teachers may choose for students to develop independent investigations to model their topic, as well.
