Technological Advances in Automobiles

edited by: Carla C. Johnson, Janet B. Walton, and Erin Peters-Burton

In this lesson, students are introduced to and experiment with mousetrap cars and the science and industry of crash testing cars with a focus on safety improvements. Students investigate the history of technologies that have allowed cars to achieve greater speeds and the technologies needed to keep us safe at these speeds. We recommend reading Chapter 3, which is included in this book selection and provides a module overview and summary. A materials list, safety notes, standards, assessment, teacher background information, Internet resources, and references are provided. This book selection also includes the Table of Contents, About the Editors and Authors, Acknowledgments, Appendix, and Index.
