Geology on the Move

The Geology on the Move e-Book is an interactive book where learners study the geologic features of weathering and erosion by embarking on virtual geology field trips. In the first field trip, learners board a raft and travel down the Colorado River. As they traverse the river, they collect evidence from the surrounding landforms, guiding them to make discoveries about weathering and erosion. Learners focus on the geologic features of the canyon and river to discover how water erosion has acted upon this landscape for millions of years and continues to act upon it today. Next, learners travel to the tallest sand dunes in North America to collect evidence of wind erosion. They examine how wind causes sand to move, creating these large dunes. Through video and audio, learners will see and hear the sand dunes eroding.
