Three-dimensional learning calls for students to not only learn disciplinary content, but also to engage in the practices and habits of mind of scientists and engineers. Science notebooks are a powerful and flexible tool to support three-dimensional teaching and learning as well as a way to connect students with the work of actual scientists.
In this session, you will meet Jessica Fries-Gaither, author of NSTA’s Notable Notebooks: Scientists and Their Writings, Exemplary Evidence: Scientists and Their Data, and the new Science Notebooks in Student-Centered Classrooms. Jessica will draw on her published works as well as her teaching experience to address:
All individuals receive a certificate of participation and 100 NSTA activity points for attending the live seminar and completing the end-of-program survey. A certificate of participation is not awarded for watching the recorded version of the program.
