I recently had a chance to do this activity with a group of 15 4th graders enrolled in an after-school science club. The students not only throughly enjoyed the activity, but were able to explain what they learned about forces and motion by drawing pictures and recording their results and thoughts in their science journals. I am also thrilled that this activity has an element of art. This activity was such a success that I plan to use it as an inquiry based learning opportunity with my regular ed class!

I loved the content of this chapter although I think that same content is much too difficult in the manner presented for third or fourth graders. There are too many concepts and too much vocabulary for this age child. I would highly recommend this chapter for use with middle school students
