Please Pass the Pollen: Flowering Plants, Pollination, and Insect Pollinators

by: John Eichinger

This high-interest activity provides an opportunity for students to learn more about the natural world while they hone their investigatory skills. In the activity, student groups investigate pollination, insect behavior, and flower structure. They will design and carry out experiments of their choosing as they apply the inquiry skills learned in other activities in this book. In a Going Further activity, students design and “build” an artificial flower that will attract pollinators.
