II really like this lesson plan idea!! It is inquiry based, and it can easily be adjusted for middle school students. This is a topic that is difficult for me to teach, so I needed a way to better help my students obtain a conceptual understanding of the concept of centripetal force. The lesson plan presented in this book chapter provides just the right amount of information, it could be easily implemented for a very low cost, and the steps are explained in detail. I had initially considered this book above the level of my students, but I see after reading this chapter that this book has lesson plans that would be very effective with my middle school students. I am off to the science store to order a copy!
