Unifying Principles of Biology

by: BSCS

This chapter outlines six unifying principles educators can use to organize biological concepts, thus helping to unify the otherwise disparate facts of biology. These unifying principles represent a comprehensive foundation for the biological sciences based on the well-documented research of many biologists throughout the history of scientific investigation. The six principles are briefly described, and it is recommended that teachers use these six unifying principles to organize their biology program.
