As the article will mention, sun safety is something that teachers need to embrace and teach to their students. Teachers have great influence on their students and can make a difference as to whether students will take the time necessary each day to protect their skins and eyes from the harmful effects of UV rays. The authors provide different activities to engage the students in learning about the sun. One activity has children comparing different types of sunscreens, while in another activity children are measuring their shadows. There are 41 activities in the SunWise tool kit available through the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
