Everyone has binder clips. They come in all sizes, shapes, and even colors. This 5E Lesson cycles activity encourages students to understand the physical science concepts of simple machines and to explore changing one variable of binder clips to see if they can determine what effect it has on the design of the product. This is a win-win situation. Using everyday inexpensive office supplies, learning how and why it works and then changing it design. All of this is wrapped up in a complete activity that students will enjoy and learn from.
