I just had to re-read this article (2005) about Oobleck and write a review because there is no need to re-invent the wheel to adapt and to incorporate great ideas into current classroom practice. The author gives the recipe both for Oobleck and for using it successfully with physical science students studying properties of matter. Now, I am not going to tell you the secret of Oobleck but invite you to open the resource and take this innovative plunge into Non-Newtonian solids. The author describes a rubric, suggests a lead-in story, and offers a subsequent activity that is sure to snag the attention of your mind-wandering students and to encourage them to take pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) and POE!
