Preservice teachers were asked to draw a picture of a scientist doing science in the same way students in different grades have been asked for years often at the start of a school year. These young adults will be the educators of the children of the future. The results are posted on a chart identifying what grades they planned to teach and compared this to children. The results were very surprising and reflect a need to change our future educator’s perspective of what scientists look like and what they are doing. This was a very enlightening article.
