This article does a great job of summarizing some of the key aspects of teaching climate change science with a focus on using climate change models in teaching. The authors warn that climate change science is complex, yet encourage teachers to take a "systems approach" in teaching climate change science. A link and code is included to SciLinks, which opens 119 resources on climate change and global warming. I highly recommend this article to anyone teaching climate change or environmental science.

Understanding how scientists' use of computer models to predict climate change is difficult for students to grasp.  Instead of the teacher presenting all of the information, why not have students try their hand at controlling the parameters of a climate model.  The article describes two models that could be adapted to many different situations. Students can then observe "first hand" why happens when different parameters are changed. I had a chance to play with both models described in the article.  Both were very easy to manipulate and look most appropriate for high school students.
