I really enjoyed reading this article, which portrays using student interest to facilitate learning. It also was a great example of using multiple intelligences to express the different learning of the students. The students were involved in their learning about the ladybug by integrating all forms of how students learn. All standards of math, language arts, communication, writing, and science were integrated within the learning of the ladybug.

Students at an early age in school should be allowed to express themselves in terms of their interests. Nurturing their multiple intelligences should be part of their learning. This article addresses Garner’s multiple intelligences and learning about ladybugs. Embedded in the article is a short but helpful description of how to set up a ladybug learning center in a kindergarten classroom. The article includes several excellent reading resources as well.
