This was an article that was great for those who are short on time and need things to be right to the point! It explains that without the Earth's tilt, we would have no seasons....just as other planets epxerience! It also shares information about other planets that experience similar seasons like Earth but length is different because of their placement in the solar system. Great easy read that most of your students could comprehend if you are teaching upper elementary!

This is a Q&A article that answers the question "Do other planets have summer?". It is an excellent resource for educators who need a refresher on why we have seasons. The author begins by explaining why we have summer on earth. He does address the common misconception that earth has seasons because we are closer to the sun during the summer. He then explains the seasons (or lack there of) on each planet in our solar system. This article is some what outdated because it refers to Pluto as a planet.

A full, brief explanation of the reason for seasons on Earth opens this informative article. Although the writing can get confusing in places, overall this is an excellent explanation of the tilt of each of the 9 planets (yes, 9!) and the effect of that tilt on the seasons or lack thereof on each planet. Included in the explanation is a brief mention of the planets' atmospheres and orbits and the effect those have on the temperature differences. The article will help both those who need a brief refresher and those to whom these concepts are new. Further, the explanations will help teachers lead older elementary students through the same logical progression.
