This chapter presents research concepts featuring qualitative, quantitative, and action research. Qualitative research generally involves a researcher combining observation, interview, and analysis of various documents. Quantitative research represents the kind of research many teachers associate with education research. Action research is more personal or local than the traditional qualitative or quantitative research described in this chapter.
