A Chance to Be Like Lance

The physical demands of the Tour de France and the success of American cyclist Lance Armstrong provide a great "hook" to teach middle school students about nutrition and physiology. This article describes how an ordinary nutrition and physiology unit was transformed into an engaging curriculum through careful planning and by implementing an inquiry-based approach to learning.
