This inquiry-based activity raises student awareness of the inequity that exists in the way the media portrays the contributions of men and women. Students look at a variety of images of men and women engaged in different actitivities, and then make suppositions about the pictures. The lively discussion that follows exposes stereotypes about gender roles. Suggestions for promoting gender equity in the classroom are included.
