The Seven Cs strategy described in this article is a small but very practical start to addressing the needs of students. The practices are divided into seven categories: community, curriculum, constructivist connections, confidence, competence, computers, and caring. This successful framework can be used both in a preservice context and/or an in-service context with veteran science educators. The benefits of these tried-and-true best practices are that they provide science educators with ways to be more effective in the classroom.
