It is important for students to understand the relationship between weathering and erosion in a way that they will be able to differentiate the two. I enjoyed the simplistic explanations that would make it easier to compare and contrast them. In order to truly comprehend erosion, it is vital for students to know that the elements of erosion will affect materials in different ways. The model they present is a helpful way to engage and interest the students into learning about erosion.

Students have problems remembering the difference between these two terms, so when you teach them, be sure to emphasize the differences! This article mentions weathering but focuses on erosion. I have never used the tissue to represent plant life, but that is actually a great idea since it does model grasslands very well. Limited to water erosion, but a good lesson, all the same.
