Adapting the JASON Project: Real Science, Real Time, Real Learning

by: Warren Phillips

The JASON Project is a multidisciplinary curriculum involving real science studies and comparing them to local studies performed by students. The Plymouth Public School System, located on the south shore of Massachusetts, adopted the JASON Project as part of the 5-8 curriculum. The curriculum addresses the More Emphasis section, as well as the Content Standards and the Professional Development standards of the National Science Education Standards. The wide spectrum of activities described in this chapter is intended to immerse the students in science.
