Kepler was a mathematician who worked as Tycho Brahe’s assistant used observations to come up with explanations about the distances of orbiting objects. These are called the three laws of planetary motion. All three are described in this article. Aside from the knowledge this article imposes on the read, it presents a strong connection between the disciplines of science and mathematics. This can be used to help students understand why math is an integral part of science.
