This article was a great one. It talked about how to stretch a lesson all year for the students to enjoy. I liked how they talked about what was included and done each month. The article includes a field trip, KWL chart, questions to ask, and much more. I also liked that there were different forms of assessments included at the end as well as a list of trade books to be used for the duration of the lesson.

This was a wonderful article. The article is a great example of how to create a lesson that spans across a whole year. The author was informative about what was done each month. Also at the end of the article the author explained the type of assessment that was used. In addition, the lesson had many art and literacy components driven by the students' interest.

This article was an easy read to follow along! It is awesome to read about a science thematic unit that takes the entire year to follow through. This year long theme did a fine job integrating other topics such as seasons, plant and animal anatomy, lifecycles and the relationship between plants and animals. The opportunity for a field trip that tie to the lesson plans creates memorable experiences and relate to what they have learned in the classroom to reality. Another thing I enjoy about this resource is that it provides text to support students learning and a glossary on honeybees.
