This article discuss a great way to bridge the gap of students in a science class. By having students rotate through 12 center activities. This could be used as a spiral review as well as a set of mini labs. I wouldn’t do all 12 in one day, I would focus on no more than 5. This would allow students to take different approaches at the activity as well as complete a writing prompt from each center. This activity could be used throughout the school year to keep students refreshed. Repeating these centers could allow students to see if they discover anything different from the previous time.

This article contains 12 separate activities that can be completed in stations or as a class. Each of the activities uses items easy and inexpensive to obtain. I would completing this lesson in stations. However, I would complete a maximum of 3-4 stations a day, to allow time for me to observe student interaction with the content material. I would also suggest writing/typing up the list of questions provided for each activity, to be used a prompt for the writing in their science journals. If science journals are not used, then a workbook could be created using the questions listed in the lesson. The lesson appears thorough, especially if all 12 stations are completed. The only addition I would consider would be a measurement station. Overall, a great lesson plan/activity for teaching the scientific process. Highly recommend.
