Though this article is written to an audience of high school educators, I would argue that it also applies to middle and elementary education. The article listed compelling reasons why school gardens are important, provided guidance for starting and funding one, and listed potential ways to keep a garden running and involve the community. This is a well-rounded and very informative resource. I would absolutely recommend this to other educators.

I enjoyed this article because it discussed the benefits of having a school garden such as giving students hands on experience with nature, and making it easier to incorporate food science in the curriculum, and its a great way to include family and faculty and raise money. I remember when I was in high school, I had a class called "Horticulture" and in the class we took care of plants and animals. This class provided us with the hands on experience I think students of all ages would benefit from. And I remember every month we would raise money by selling the plants to people, and faculty members and family members would come and support our school.
