This article outlines efforts to get more girls interested in science careers. Along with five books in a series called “What Do You Want to Be?” Sally Ride and NASA have teamed up to produce a poster based on the book about exploring space sciences. The goal is to show that there are many paths to science jobs, highlight some of the women in space science, and stimulate girls into space science careers.

This article, written by the first American woman in space, Sally Ride discusses the importance of inspiring girls in science. As part of her foundation, Sally Ride Science, she has developed programs to help get girls interested in science. In this article she discusses a poster, based on a series of books, that familiarizes girls with science careers and female scientists. I look forward to finding out more about the Sally Ride Science program and the resources available through this foundation.
