This a great article for anyone looking for ideas on how to teach the history of science. I plan to implement a similar project next year, as a year long project. This year I hope to use a smaller condensed version near the end of the school year. Great example questions, great list of scientists. I would suggest looking for and providing a little more diversity within the list of scientists, or encouraging some of my students to explore and learn more on the scientists within their culture too.

This article describes how a teacher had students research the life and scientific discoveries of one of twelve scientists. The students were given a little bit of information on the scientists and asked to answer several questions. This is a good start, but I feel that students should be allowed to pick their own scientist, which would then be approved by the teacher. This way students are more personally involved in the project. The teacher could guide them if they have difficulty deciding on a scientist.
