Strategies for Teaching Science to English Learners

Teachers who teach science play a key role with English language learners (ELLs). In this chapter, the authors discuss strategies teachers can use to help English language learners learn science while improving their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in English. They also present ideas on how to connect with the students, use collaborative learning, and develop language skills and process skills of inquiry.
