This article is documentation of what I know to be true through my work with the Boston Museum of Science and the Engineering is Elementary Program. I was lucky enough to train 24 teachers in this program and students were the winners. Students who struggled with English wanted to learn the new vocabulary because it had relevance to them. The activities used in this program enhance any science program.

Loved reading this article because it tied into my science course as well as my ELL course. I know that for ELL students learning a new language is challenging on them but learning different concepts in a new language would be so much more difficult if they didn't understand what the teacher was saying. In this article I learned that you must start from the very beginning, like going over the basics before diving into a more challenging concept.
