Changing the snacking habits of students is not an easy task. Fourth grade teacher Dee Thomas took on this project by creating a 'Chef of the Week' for students to create their own healthy snacks for their classmates. Never saw a recipe for a 'zucchini scooter' before. Great way to change student attitudes about healthy foods.

This article describes how a teacher encouraged healthy snacks in her classroom. She asked students to bring healthy snacks to school since they ate lunch very late every day. Snacks brought from home were not really healthy. So the teacher started "Chef of the Week" where students created healthy snacks at school with fruits and vegetables. They got very creative and shared their "recipes" with students and parents. Now the class eats healthy snacks.
