Solar Motor

by: Bruce Yeany

The solar motor is an excellent way of demonstrating one method of changing solar energy directly into motion. For students to understand its operation, they need to understand some basic concepts. One is that matter can contract or expand due to temperature changes, another is that light is a form of energy, and a third concept is that gravity is a force that pulls on all objects. This chapter highlights how this piece of equipment can interest students at all levels.
